The Fountain

Zero blinked and lightly sighed while watching her.

Dylain nervously stepped back from him and gave a shuddering deep breath. She leaned against the tree, closing her eyes. "Gomen... I'm not good with people..." She tried to smile.

Zero only slightly looked away.

"I'm not a person, i'm a monster." He muttered quietly, although smiling to her forcefully. As if it hurt.

Dylain's ears twitched as she caught those words. "Don't say that," she snapped under her breath. "I don't believe that..." She looked down.

He looked over to her slightly frustrated.

"What makes you think that . . ."

"Because, you're a good person!" She looked up at him. "No matter how much you deny it, I can see the good in you!"

He glared to the tree.

"What good is there . . .I could lose control and be a rampaging killer."

Dylain gave a laugh with no humor. "Cats can tell if someone is a good person. They can smell it." She leaned over and sniffed his shoulder.

Zero only watched her for a moment and sighed taking away her hat.

Dylain sighed and leaned back. Her ears twitched. "I swear, you love hurting yourself." She shook her head, looking down.

"I deserve it." He answered while looking to her.

Dylain glanced up at him. "If that's the case, I deserve to have my father. But neither of us have ever done anything wrong..." She put her hand on her neck, where he bit her. "Not even when you bit me. I didn't care."

The feeling of guilt washed over him as she mentioned about when he bit her. But dismissed it as he looked to her for a moment.

Dylain sighed. "You didn't want this, did you? To be one of them..." She knew better not to say the word "vampire" around him.

Zero hated the fact that he was technically one of them now, a blood sucker. One who lusts for blood.

Dylain blinked and looked at him. "I'll take that as a no. Therefore, you are doing nothing wrong. It's just how they live."

Zero looked to her, thinking of something to reply. But found no words to speak so he stayed silent and watched her, why did she seem to care.

Dylain looked away, uncomfortable under his stare. She muttered so he couldn't hear her, "You do what you gotta do..." Her expression turned slightly sad for a moment, then went back to bored.

Zero let his hand rest just under her jaw as he lightly rubbed her cheek with his thumb, he wasn't truly thinking. just moving on instinct.

Dylain blinked in shock and stared at him, wide-eyed. What is he doing?!

Zero just continued to let his thumb rub her cheek as he stayed silent; taking one step closer to her.

Dylain knew she had no chance of running away; she couldn't go backwards, she was up against a tree. She wasn't about to try to outrun him either.

After a few more steps he was only inches from her, his stand still on her jaw. His soft lavender eyes showing a bit of curiosity.

Dylain began to blush a little.

Zero was subconsciously leaning closer to her, his warm sweet breath fanned her neck gently as he gazed into her eyes, as if searching for something.
